welcome to this love letter.
it’s been a while! i skipped the summer & fall because i forgot! & my boss didn’t remind me! (i’m my boss).
since we’re fully into 2025, most of your new year rituals are probably feeling complete. but… if you’re feeling a new wave of resolve it may because today is the lunar new year.
that means it’s a great time to renew your goals or intentions for this year, which most likely include more meaningful plans for how to consume media & how to advocate for justice. you can either review your resolutions or choose to focus on something more specific for this reflection. lunar energy is often considered feminine energy, so it’s a good time to review your emotional goals as. opposed to accomplishments.
here’s a new moon reflection to try today :
- during this new moon, what do i want to begin or initiate? what steps can i take to help set me up for success in this initiative?
- what am i hoping to call in this month / moon cycle? what feelings or blessings do i want for myself?
- is there anything i need to release / get rid of to make this possible?
try saying your answers aloud.
how do they feel?
does anything change in your body while you say them?
what images come into mind, if any?
happy new year / lunar new year / midwinter & i’ll be back in your inbox this spring!
find me elsewhere -
if you’re interested in the books i’m reading that relate to my work with y’all & with mental health in general, please add me on storygraph!
i use socials pretty sparingly, but if you are on instagram & crave occasional scroll breaks for reflective prompts & oracle cards, you can find me here on instagram.
over the fall, i shared information about systems theory & how it relates to our building connections with other people. those can be found in a story highlight if that appeals to you!
seasonal redistribution of wealth
today, thanks to y’all, we’re sending
$136 to altadena girls
to support girls in recovering after the eaton fire.
i’ve seen commentary about how unimportant it seems to get these girls makeup & skincare & things that help them feel normal, happy, themselves.
however, as a social worker, (& as a girl), i’m trained to help maintain people’s dignity & hope & joy! those things are necessities in my professional opinion. so thank you so much for helping me commit to sharing regularly!
if you have a request or suggestion for a recipient, hit me up!
